This week’s episode, called “Eastwatch” might not be as full of dragons and fiery battles as the last one, but it’s still a very intriguing episode. It has lots of reunions and shockers, and the story seems to be really moving forward now. Some of those meetings were very unexpected, some were bound to happen at some point. This article might contain spoilers for those who didn’t watch the most recent episode.
Reunions and shocking moments
Even if we didn’t exactly see it during last week’s episode, Jamie was rescued from Daenerys’ dragon by Bronn. They are both alive but Bronn tells Jamie that if dragons will be involved in this war, he will give up. Jamie received yet another shocker from Cersei, who tells him she’s pregnant with his baby. They are both very happy and, as they embrace, she tells him to never betray her again. Also, Jamie reveals to Cersei the truth about who killed Joffrey and that it was Olenna Tyrell.
As for Daenerys, she proves once again that she is merciless. When she asks the remaining Lannister army to bend the knee, Sam father and brother, Randyll and Dickon Tarly refuse. They explain to her that she is foreign and that Cersei know Westeros better than anyone else. In return, Daenerys asks Drogon to burn them alive. The other soldiers bend the knee in order to not have the same fate.
Jon Snow is beginning to gather a party to go North and bring a wight to King’s Landing, in order to prove everyone that the Whitewalker threat is real. Gendry makes a surprising return to Game of Thrones and he apparently becomes good friends with Jon. Ser Jorah Mormont also comes back fully healed from Greyscale. They also collect The Hound, Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr and start their journey beyond the Wall.
