Blade Runner 2049 has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year since its official announcement. Starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, the star of the original movie, the movie takes place about 30 years after the events in the first one. Now, a few lucky people got to see the movie a bit earlier than its official release (October 6) and they are saying it’s amazing. Some are even calling Denis Villeneuve’s movie a “a sci-fi masterpiece”.

BLADE RUNNER 2049 is sci-fi masterpiece; the kind of deep-cut genre film we don’t see anymore. Visually mind blowing, absolutely fantastic pic.twitter.com/A1d6ohmj3s

Twitter has become crowded with praise for Blade Runner 2049, as many are using terms such as “mind-blowing” and “breathtaking”. This movie sees the return of Harrison Ford, who starred as the title character who was a replicant hunter, in Ridley Scott’s original movie from 1982. It’s interesting that usually, a sequel is not as good as the first movie of a series. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case with this movie, as many critics have said it managed to take what was good in the first and make it even better.
If the original movie completely changed how we perceived sci-fi movies at the time, this new one des about the same thing. Someone even said that Blade Runner 2049 makes the Star Wars franchise look like it’s made out of Legos.
I saw #BladeRunner2049 and it is BREATHTAKING. It’s an impressive follow-up, preserving mysteries, adding new ones, expanding the universe.

Others have characterized the movie as “unforgettable” and awards-worthy. From the very first scenes, which see Ryan Gosling’s character fighting a strong enemy (portrayed by Dave Bautista, the former wrestler), the movie is impressive. And it doesn’t stop for one second. Many praised the movies visuals and effects. It reportedly manages to transport you into that amazing world and never lets you leave.
The performances of all the actors have been praised, as well as the cinematography. Moreover, it’s very possible that cinematographer Roger Deakins, who has been an Oscar nominee 13 times but never won one, could finally get the recognition he deserves.
