Shares of American Airlines Group (AAL) were marginally higher pre-market Thursday after the airline company said consolidated traffic, total capacity and load factor set new records for the month of August. August consolidated traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles, rose 5% year-on-year to 21.0 billion in August.
Total capacity, measured in available seat miles, rose 2.7% versus August 2014. American Airline’s total passenger load factor rose 1.9 percentage points to 86.5% in August. In recent pre-market trade, AAL was still moving below the midpoint of the 52-week range of $28.10 to $56.20.
